East End Arts is actively recruiting for Board Members! If you love the east end, have a passion for community-building and the arts, and want to make a difference in your community, come join us.

About Us

East End Arts (EEA) is a non-profit community arts organization that serves the east end of Toronto – roughly from the Don Valley to Victoria Park, and from Taylor Creek down to the Lake.

We provide a range of free arts-based programs that create arts-based opportunities:

  • For community members to make, explore, and share
  • For artists to create, collaborate, and learn
  • For our neighbourhood to thrive and grow

Some of our favourite recent projects include:

EEA is one of Toronto’s six Local Arts Service Organizations (LASO), a group of organizations funded in part by the City of Toronto to serve a specific geographic area.

Though our programs wander through and impact the entire east end, we are headquartered in the St Matthew’s Clubhouse, towards the south side of Riverdale Park.

About Our Board of Directors

Our volunteer Board of Directors meets about 5 times per year, and serves the following functions:

  • Strategic planning
  • Financial oversight
  • Fundraising support
  • Programming and partnership ideation/review
  • HR, governance, and advocacy

Benefits of joining the Board at EEA include:

  • Helping shape important, accessible, and creative programming
  • New connections to artists, local business leaders, government officials
  • Gaining valuable Board experience
  • Giving back to your community
  • Having lots of fun!

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for people who live East, work East, and/or love East.

In particular, you may be an especially good fit if you have experience or interest in:

  • Arts programming
  • Fundraising, grant-writing

  • Community development

We believe that a diverse team helps enrich and guide our work. We encourage applications from equity-seeking groups, including folks who are Indigenous, Black, People of Colour, LGBTQ+, newcomers, seniors, youth, and those who face economic barriers, as well as artists.

We commit to providing you with a safe, inviting Board table where your unique perspectives are heard, listened to, and valued.
