Join East End Arts and GreekTown on the Danforth BIA for a fun, family-friendly event series: Winter in GreekTown!

East End Arts and GreekTown on the Danforth BIA invite you to come experience the Danforth during a spectacular series of holiday events and activities that light up the darkest nights of the year! The lineup of events and programs is as follows:

  1. Dec 14 & 15 – Lantern Making Workshops
    Come and make your own winter lantern with artist Savenaz Rayati at the former Café Frappe.
    Date: Saturday December 14th and Sunday December 15th
    Location: 519 Danforth Ave
    Time: 12-4pm
  2. Dec 14 & 15 – Santa on the Square
    Children are invited to come get your photos with Santa in the Alexander the Great Parkette! In the event of poor weather this will move to 519 Danforth (former Café Frappe)
    Date: Saturday December 14th and Sunday December 15th
    Location: Alexander the Great Parkette
    Time: 12-3pm
  3. Dec 14 & 15 – Paws & Claus
    Pets are invited to come get your photos with Santa in the Alexander the Great Parkette! In the event of poor weather this will move to 519 Danforth (former Café Frappe)
    Date: Saturday December 14th and Sunday December 15th
    Location: Alexander the Great Parkette
    Time: 3-4pm
  4. Dec 17 – Charlie Brown Christmas Album Performance
    Enjoy the Vince Guaraldi “Charlie Brown Christmas” album in its entirety, performed in Alexander the great Parkette amongst the gorgeous holiday lights! Local musician Alan Zemaitis takes the lead on piano, Chris Kettlewell on contra bass & Kyle Sullivan laying down the jazzy festive beats.

  5. Dec 20 – Lantern Parade on Danforth with Axiom Circus
    Come join us for a Lantern Parade on the Danforth with fire-spinners, street performers and more! Bring your lanterns, lights and noise makers as we scare away the darkness on the darkest day of the year before the Solstice!
    Date: Friday December 20th
    Location: Danforth Ave – meet at Alexander the Great Parkette
    Time: 6-7pm
  6. Dec 21 – Pablo Terry & Sol de Cuba
    Taste of the Danforth favourites Pablo Terry & Sol de Cuba heat up the square on Saturday night!
    Date: Saturday December 21st
    Location: Alexander the Great Parkette
    Time: 6-8pm
  7. Dec 21 & 22 – Magic Wand-Making Workshop with Unicorn Festival
    Come get creative and make magic wands with artists from the Unicorn Festival!
    Date: Saturday December 21st and Sunday December 22nd
    Location: 519 Danforth Ave
    Time: 12-4pm
  8. Dec 22 – Cloud 9
    Cloud 9 – Toronto’s Feel-Good Cover Band will have the square hoping Sunday afternoon with a mix of holiday and popular favourites while you do last minute shopping and errands at local Danforth Businesses.
    Date: Sunday December 22nd
    Location: Alexander the Great Parkette
    Time: 3-5pm
  9. Dec 24 – Family Christmas Carols
    Join us for dinner, drinks or both during this festive night! The piano will be out, and carols will be sung. Hark…the Herald Angels Sing…!
    Date: Tuesday December 24th
    Location: 511 Danforth Avenue
    Time: 7-8pm
  10. Dec 27 & 28 – Jazz in the Square
    Join us for fantastic jazz music by the Sam Dickinson Trio at Alexander the Great Parkette!
    Date: Friday December 27th and Saturday December 28th
    Location: Alexander the Great Parkette
    Time: 6-8pm
  11. Dec 29 – More Jazz in the Square!
    Come join us and more talented jazz artists, Tony Padalino & Linda Cara, for music at Alexander the Great Parkette.
    Date: Sunday December 29th
    Time: 3-5pm
