East End Arts is proud to partner with and support the inPrint Collective.
The inPrint Collective is launching their latest project “Community Print Pop Up”. This project will run for the month of January, including public and community group workshops, culminating in a closing celebration on January 30th. The Community Print Pop-Up shop is located on the second floor space above the historic Linsmore Tavern at 1298 Danforth Avenue.
Throughout January, inPrint will facilitate weekend workshops with east end community groups. Participants will learn printmaking skills, and create group murals on fabric centered around a discussion of neighbourhood concerns, hopes, and desires as seen by each particular group.
The final murals will be presented at the end of the month in a community celebration at the pop up shop, with each mural then going home with each group. Groups served by the YWCA GirlSpace program, Bangladeshi Community Centre and the Kennedy Youth Shelter are amongst those participating in this project and we look forward to revealing their artwork to the east end.
Residents of the neighbourhood (and the rest of the city) are invited to join us in celebrating the final works of this project on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 from 2pm to 5pm.
FREE Public Workshops: The inPrint Collective invites you to join a FREE workshop on Friday, January 22 and/or Saturday, January 23 from 11am to 3pm in their pop-up space on the Danforth. Learn relief print and monotype techniques and work with other community members to create a collaborative print mural reflecting on urban living issues. Snacks and TTC provided. Recommended for ages 10+.
