Do you feel icky about “selling” your work?

Facilitated by artist business strategist Alisa Singh, and supported by East End Arts, this one-hour Zoom session for artists and creators called, Sell Without Selling: Intro to Marketing Funnels for Artists will show you a practical, artist-friendly approach to growing your audience and sales. Learning this skill will help you meet collectors, build relationships, and guide them toward purchasing, without the hard sell. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how marketing funnels work, fresh ideas for your own funnel, and a template to map out your next steps.

Engage collectors naturally—no pressure, just connection.

Who is this session for?

Artists and creatives of all disciplines, creative space-makers, producers, arts workers and/or arts administrators who:

  • Kinda hate doing marketing, but know they have to.
  • Cringe at the term “sales”.
  • Don’t want to waste time doing marketing that has no impact and feels icky.
  • Want to understand how to find and connect with collectors.
  • Are willing to think outside the box.

What can I expect?

Marketing your art doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or salesy. In this workshop, Alisa will break marketing funnels down into a simple, approachable system that helps you connect with your audience in a way that feels good. Whether you’re new to marketing or looking to refine your strategy, you’ll learn how to make it easy for the right people to discover, love, and buy your work.

Through real-world examples and collective brainstorming, you’ll start mapping out your own funnel, ensuring you have a clear path to grow your audience and sell more work. Participants will discuss key stages of the funnel, options for activities at each stage, and how to prioritize which ones to focus on.

By the end of this session, you’ll walk away with a fresh perspective on marketing, practical ideas for your own funnel, and a ready-to-use template to develop your strategy further.

Selling your art doesn’t have to be complicated. Let’s make it simple, sustainable, and natural to you!

Accessibility Notes

A few housekeeping and accessibility reminders:

We are all Zoom Pros now, but please remember to keep your microphone on mute when you are not talking – but turn it ON when you do. It would also be great if you could set your name in Zoom to include your pronouns.

Please try not to have any ceiling fans or bright lights behind you (and who wants their camera shooting upwards anyway). Also, don’t use any virtual backgrounds, please – we understand you might not want to give away all the details of your home, but we’ve learned that for folks on the autism spectrum, the glimmer around the edges of you might be distracting. We leave it to your best judgment – your safety and comfort are important too!

Come into the room with an open mind and your ideas. Ask questions, and have fun, but also be respectful to everyone else in the room. East End Arts has a zero tolerance policy for bullying, harassment and hate of any kind.

If you require ASL interpretation or other accommodations for a disability, please contact Mahmoud our Program Manager, at mahmoud@eastendarts.ca
