She/Her

Chelsea Virginia Gerow was born and raised on the shores of Lake Superior (Thunder Bay, ON – a proud northerner), and has always had a passion for capturing the world around her and sharing unique stories through words, pictures, or art. In the day she works as the Senior Communications Manager for East End Arts, and in the night she transforms into an illustrator, muralist, creative writer, and photographer. Chelsea holds a master’s degree in English Literature and Gender Studies from Lakehead University, a post-graduate diploma in Professional Writing and Communications from Humber College, and a Graphic Design Certificate from George Brown College. She considers herself a well-rounded written and visual communicator, and she is passionate about amplifying the stories of the east Toronto community through the arts.

Chelsea has been with the East End Arts team since 2018, and strongly believes in the transformative power and magic of community-engaged arts programs and opportunities. Previous to joining EEA, she worked for Toronto Arts Foundation and Toronto Arts Council, and the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. As the Communications lead on the team, Chelsea leads the communications and design materials to support and expand East End Arts’ exciting programming and initiatives. When Chelsea is not working you can find her backcountry camping with her dog, reading, cooking a new recipe, curling (on ice), or drinking copious amounts of tea (or wine).
