St. Matthew’s Clubhouse | 450 Broadview Avenue

Create unique “art you can touch” with Kyla’s Yager’s Tactile Art Workshop!

Participants are invited to wrap up our ArtMEETS season with an exciting tactile art workshop led by local east end artist, Kyla Yager! She refers to this art form in her professional practice as Fidget Fine Art, because she personally creates “art you can touch” to create more accessibility within fine art spaces, so that sensory-seeking or vision impaired art viewers can experience the art and its tactile nature.
This workshop will invite participants to use mini hot glue guns, and vibrant coloured acrylic paints and gel varnishes to create their own unique piece of tactile art to take home!

Kyla Yager is a Toronto based, New Orleans bred visual artist who utilizes her ADHD and mental health to intuitively guide her paintbrush. Kyla has been creating since early childhood, received her BFA in Visual Arts at York University in 2018, and completed OCAD’s Fineline Business Accelerator Certification in Summer 2023. She has been exhibiting professionally since early 2020 having been featured in juried art fairs, gallery exhibitions, publications, Nuit Blanche 2023, and won Art Battle Toronto May 2024.. She begins her process by playing with paint (acrylic, sometimes ink), and then subconsciously highlights hidden imagery within the medium. Repetition and pattern are her stimming, which adds to her maximalist signature style. As a full time artist, Kyla facilitates intuitive art workshops, does live painting and face painting at events, paints murals, and loves collaborating with other artists.

Each ArtMEETS workshop will cost $10-$40 per person to attend (on a sliding scale of Pay What You Can). Payment is to be made online at the time of registration, which will be done via Eventbrite. Payments through Eventbrite can be made with any major credit card, or through PayPal. If you are unable to pay online, we also accept cash or cheque, which is to be paid before the day of your workshop. If you need to pay with cash or cheque, or you would like assistance through the payment process, please contact East End Arts at

If you require financial assistance, please contact the EEA team at Nobody will be denied participation due to lack of funds, but please note that there will be high demand to participate in this program, so if you require financial assistance, please reach out early!

If you are not able to attend an ArtMEETS workshop that you’ve registered for, specifically if you are feeling unwell, please let us know as soon as possible and we will be happy to issue you a refund, or offer you a spot at an upcoming ArtMEETS workshop, if and where possible. You may also feel free to transfer your ticket to a friend! If you’re transferring your spot to another person, be sure to email them your ticket or hand it to them personally, and let East End Arts know in advance.

Outside of a positive attitude and a readiness to get creative and have fun, you may also want to bring a water bottle (we will have tap water available as an alternative), a face mask if you need one (we will also have some on site if you need a disposable one), and your smart device so you can share images and tag us during your experience (we will reshare!)
