ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Let’s come together to create new work, learn more about spoken word poetry, and try out being on the mic!

You are invited to join east end poet, playwright, librettist, musician, lighting designer, and host, Charlie Petch, for a spoken word workshop for new or established poets! This workshop will be not only about creating new work, but also finding out more about spoken word/ poetry slam competitions, and exploring a performance feedback session that includes a microphone workshop and technical elements for online and in person performance. It is a fun and interactive workshop, and anyone can be as involved as they wish. Participants should bring whatever device or paper they need to create new work and/or take notes, and they will leave this workshop with some new poems and tools that will help you in any public speaking setting!
