Four Blocks by artist Larry Williamson is a Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival exhibition on display during May. Meet Larry on Saturday May 5 from 6-9pm at Cobalt Gallery and Clay Studio.
What to do when one’s physical activity is suddenly and seriously restricted? Williamson loves to wander and explore the city, but after suffering a heart attack his rambling range was abruptly constrained to no more than about four blocks. His neighbourhood, so familiar, had always been overlooked as he went in search of more interesting sights further afield. But with this new challenge of limited roaming, Williamson discovered much to appreciate in his immediate neighbourhood.
